
Pizza dough – 250–300g (for one medium pizza)
Tomato sauce – ½ cup (preferably San Marzano or homemade)
Fresh mozzarella cheese – 125g, sliced or torn into pieces
Fresh basil leaves – 6–8 leaves
Olive oil – 1–2 teaspoons
Salt – a pinch
Preheat oven – Heat oven to 250°C (480°F) with a pizza stone or baking tray inside.
Prepare dough – Stretch pizza dough into a 10–12 inch circle on a floured surface.
Add sauce – Spread tomato sauce evenly over the base, leaving a small border around the edges.
Add cheese – Arrange mozzarella pieces evenly on top of the sauce.
Bake – Transfer pizza to preheated oven. Bake for 7–10 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is melted and bubbling.
Add basil & oil – Remove pizza, place fresh basil leaves on top, and drizzle with olive oil.
